Loli Martín Mencía, educational psychologist specialized in language.
My dedication as a specialist in language aims at the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of disorders related to human communication and its associated difficulties.
The intervention for language development and learning is based on an interactive model that seeks to combine formal and functional approaches in designing communicative activities and situations. Communication and pragmatic aspects of language are always prioritized in the intervention hierarchy.
The family is considered a co-therapeutic agent, and parents are included in intervention sessions to incorporate the acquired learning into everyday life situations.
The intervention program is structured into three levels:
- Level 1: Reinforcing natural language acquisition mechanisms through enhanced stimulation and open activities.
- Level 2: Functional activities within a meaningful and functional communicative context.
- Level 3: Formal activities.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems are used as communication support, including bimodal language, supportive gestures, and pictograms.
For the acquisition of written language in children with developmental and/or language disorders, the “LEER PARA HABLAR” method (Marc Monfort and Adoración Juárez Sánchez) is employed.
My dedication as an educational psychologist aims to prevent emotional problems in children and adolescents, teaching them effective emotional management strategies to overcome the challenges of their daily lives.
