ABOUT ME
Loli Martín Mencía, educational psychologist specializing in language.
My dedication as an educational psychologist specializing in language aims to:
- Stimulate language and communication preventively, as well as assess and intervene in potential difficulties and disorders that arise from an early age.
- Prevent emotional problems in children and adolescents by teaching them how to effectively manage their emotions to successfully overcome the challenges of their daily lives.
My dedication.
Can I assist you with anything?
1. Evaluation and planning of intervention in language and communication problems.
Initial assessment to identify and detect the needs of the child attending the center. Planning the intervention based on the information gathered in the assessment. Always starting from an interactive model that systematizes the natural stimulation of oral language while controlling the contingencies of more or less open interaction situations. Subsequently, progressively implementing different actions based on the progress in the detected difficulties. Functional exercises and more formal learning approaches will be incorporated over time.
2. Individualized treatments.
The work sessions for the development of the intervention plan are always individual. The progression of each child in the symptoms accompanying their difficulties varies. We start with different interests, needs... which is why the programs are personalized. The progress in achieving the objectives is more effective by dedicating attention to each student individually.
3. Working methodology.
In the intervention hierarchy, communication and pragmatic aspects of language are always prioritized. The family is considered a co-therapeutic agent and parents are included in the intervention sessions to incorporate the acquired learning into everyday life situations.
The intervention program is structured into three levels:
- Level 1: reinforcing natural language acquisition mechanisms through enhanced stimulation and open activities.
- Level 2: functional activities within a meaningful and functional communicative context.
- Level 3: formal activities.
4. Intervention for emotional well-being.
Preventing mental health problems through educational programs that promote knowledge and understanding of emotional functioning. This learning is crucial in children and adolescents to promote healthy development. Training in emotions facilitates the learning of adaptive coping strategies to navigate well in different social contexts and situations.
